Ethics and Integrity

Within the framework of RRI, committed to this agenda, the IR has several committees that oversee the ethics of the research carried out at the institution, following the Code of Good Research Practices, are a tool for self-regulating scientific practices and provides rules, recommendations and commitments that scientific staff linked to the Institution must bear in mind. Depending on the characteristics of the research project, ethical, legal and risk assessment aspects must be considered and evaluated by the corresponding committees.

Integrity

With the aim of ensuring compliance with the Code of Good Research Practices, the governing board appointed the figure of a research ombudsperson to ensure the integrity of the institution's research. This person chairs and collaborates with the Research Integrity Committee (CIR), and acts as a mediator between the Institute's research staff who detect possible scientific misconduct and any person suspected of it. This position guarantees independence from other institutional bodies, confidentiality of the Institute's actions, and proven experience in the scientific world.
