Research and Innovation

Open Science

IR Sant Pau, as a key player in the Catalan, Spanish, European, and international health research system, has included in its strategic plan the commitment to promoting open science as a research model. The aim is to make knowledge transparent, accessible to everyone, free, and reusable, while fostering collaborative work, openness, and the sharing of all stages of the scientific process, from study design and data management to publication and assessment, scientific communication, and public engagement, in line with current guidelines and through the following main pillars.

Open Access

Open access to publications means ensuring that scientific output is freely, permanently, and unrestrictedly accessible to everyone. To achieve this objective, we have approved the open access policy and ensure the deposit of publications in the institutional repository, as well as the retention of authors’ rights.

Research Data

Research data management is fundamental to open science and, in publicly funded projects, the preparation of a data management plan and the deposit of datasets in open repositories in accordance with FAIR principles are mandatory. At the Research Institute, we provide resources, tools, support, and training to meet these requirements.
