Call for a T4A – Junior Senior Technician the Cellular Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy Group (GITG). Deadline: 19 June 2026, 3:00 pm

About the Unit / Group

The Cellular Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy Group (GITG) within the Hematology Department focuses on the study of genetically modified T cells expressing antigen-specific Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) and their clinical application in patients with hematological malignancies. The GITG at IR Sant Pau is a well-established group dedicated to the development and manufacturing of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), specifically CAR-T therapies, for the treatment of lymphoid hematological malignancies. In 2020, the group launched the first clinical trial in Europe using CAR-T30 cells (HSP-CAR30) for patients with Hodgkin lymphoma. The Phase II study is currently ongoing. In 2023, a second clinical trial was initiated in patients with refractory B-cell lymphomas using selected memory T cells expressing CAR19 (HSP-CAR19M). Both HSP-CAR30 and HSP-CAR19M products are fully manufactured at Sant Pau by the GITG in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Current research lines focus on:

Investigating the antitumor efficacy of memory T-cell subsets.
Studying the antitumor efficacy of genetically modified stem memory T cells expressing CARs.
Developing innovative fourth-generation CAR constructs targeting antigens expressed in hematological malignancies.
Developing academic CAR-T immunotherapy clinical trials for patients with lymphoid malignancies.

Essential requirements

Minimum required qualification: Higher Education degree (University Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree) or equivalent.
Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia or, failing this, the selected candidate must demonstrate or commit to acquiring an adequate level in both official languages within a period not exceeding one year.
Intermediate level of English.
Intermediate level of office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Skills will be valued
Knowledge of immunology, immunotherapy, tumor immunology assays, and molecular biology techniques (qPCR/ELISA).
Experience in flow cytometry and cell culture techniques.

Functions

Processing biological samples from participants treated with CAR-T cells.
Performing immunological monitoring studies on participants receiving CAR-T therapy.
Data interpretation and presentation at scientific meetings.
Supporting equipment maintenance, stock control, and biological sample storage management.

Offered

Permanent contract linked to the Cellular Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy (GITG) project.
Annual workload of 1,627.5 hours (37.5 hours per week).
Salary according to the applicable collective agreement.
