T4A – Junior Senior Technician

Barcelona Ref. 2026/087

Call for a T4A – Junior Senior Technician the Cellular Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy Group (GITG). Deadline: 23 June 2026, 3:00 pm

About the Unit / Group

The Cellular Immunotherapy and Gene Therapy Group (GITG) of the Hematology Service focuses on the study of genetically modified T cells that express antigen-specific chimeric receptors (CAR) and their clinical application in patients with hematological malignancies

The GITG group at IR-Sant Pau is a consolidated team that develops and manufactures CART cells for the treatment of patients with lymphoid hematological malignancies. In 2020, our group initiated a Phase I clinical trial, "first in Europe," with CART30 (HSP-CAR30) cells for patients with Hodgkin lymphoma, whose Phase II is ongoing. In 2023, a second clinical trial was launched in patients with refractory B-cell lymphomas using memory T cells expressing CAR19 (HSP-CAR19M). The CART30 and CART19 products are entirely manufactured at Sant Pau by the GITG group following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.

Current research lines focus on:

  • Investigating the antitumor efficacy of memory T cell subtypes.
  • Studying the antitumor efficacy of genetically modified "stem" memory T cells with CARs.
  • Developing innovative 4th-generation CARs targeting antigens expressed in hematological malignancies.
  • Conducting clinical trials of CAR T-cell immunotherapy in patients with lymphoid malignancies; developing academic CART therapies.
