Call for a T2- Research Technician the Neurobiology of Dementias Group - Multilingual Aphasia & Dementia Research Lab. Deadline: May 26, 2026, 3:00 pm

About the Group

This multidisciplinary team is made up of more than 60 researchers including neurologists, neuropsychologists, speech therapists, biologists, biochemists, engineers, and laboratory technicians. This is a highly translational team that combines basic research with human clinical research to advance our understanding of these diseases. The group is very productive generating publications and attracting competitive resources. The group regularly trains national and international residents, master's students, and pre- and post-doctoral researchers. The group offers an excellent place for the training of young researchers in a unique translational environment.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field
  • Oral and written proficiency in Catalonia’s two official languages (Catalan and Spanish), or, if not currently met, the successful candidate must demonstrate— or commit to obtaining within a maximum of one year—an adequate command of both
  • Intermediate level of English (written and spoken)
  • Intermediate proficiency in standard office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Skills will be valued
  • Availability to work during the evenings.
  • Availability during the month of August.
  • Strong organization and project-management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Previous experience in the coordination of research and/or clinical activities. Previous experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of aphasia. Previous experience working with patients with neurodegenerative disease and, in particular, with progressive aphasia. Postgraduate education in neurologopedia. Interest in research and in completing a Doctoral thesis in the future.
  • Previous experience with software used for data collection (RedCap) and data analysis (R).

Functions

  • Perform cognitive and linguistic evaluations and administer speech therapy in castellano and catalán in patients with neurodegenerative disease.
  • Coordinate and manage research projects in castellano and catalán in the context of a multicenter study under the direction of the site principal investigators and in collaboration with other team members across sites. o Assist in the development of research protocols and methodologies. o Collaborate with researchers to recruit and schedule study participants. o Deliver materials to our collaborative site in Barcelona (Hospital Clìnic de Barcelona). o Collect, organize, and maintain research data and records. o Conduct literature reviews and assist in data analysis. o Prepare research reports, presentations, and publications. o Assist in the preparation and submission of research grant proposals. o Maintain compliance with research ethics and regulatory standards.
  • Provide administrative support for research activities, including budget management
