About the Group

The Memory Unit at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona is a multidisciplinary team within the Neurology Department. We specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. Our unit combines clinical care with cutting-edge research to improve early detection, monitor disease progression, and develop new therapeutic strategies.

With internationally recognized research programs, advanced biomarker platforms, and strong collaborations, we are committed to advancing precision medicine and providing the highest quality care to patients and families.

Essential requirements

Minimum required qualification: Higher Education Degree (University Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree) or equivalent.
Oral and written proficiency in the two official languages of Catalonia or, alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate or commit to acquiring adequate proficiency in both official languages within a maximum period of one year.
Intermediate level of English.
Intermediate level of office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Skills will be valued
• Laboratory knowledge related to extracellular vesicle isolation, cell cultures, and immunocytochemistry.
• Bioinformatics knowledge for large-scale data processing and advanced statistical analyses.
• Previous research stays in research groups.
• Experience in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.

Functions

Isolation of extracellular vesicles from biofluids of individuals with neurodegenerative diseases for the identification of novel diagnostic biomarkers.
Advanced statistical analyses to determine relationships between biomarkers and clinical and biological variables in large cohorts.
Identification of new candidate biomarker molecules through multi-omics data analysis.
Study of molecular functions in cell cultures.

Offered

Permanent contract linked to the project “Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Extracellular Vesicle Tau as Diagnostic and Prognostic Biomarkers in 4R- tauopathies”.
Annual working schedule of 1,627.50 hours (37.5 hours/week).
Salary according to collective agreement.
Research Group: Neurobiology of Dementias.
