The Memory Unit at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona is a multidisciplinary team within the Neurology Department. We specialize in the diagnosis, treatment and research of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. Our unit integrates clinical care with cutting-edge research to improve early detection, monitor disease progression, and develop new therapeutic strategies.

With internationally recognized research programs, advanced biomarker platforms, and strong collaborations, we are committed to advancing toward precision medicine and providing patients and families with the highest quality care.

Essential requirements

Minimum required qualification: Higher Education (University Diploma or University Degree) or equivalent.
Oral and written knowledge of both official languages of Catalonia, or alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate or commit to achieving within a year a proper understanding of both official languages.
Intermediate level of English.
Intermediate knowledge of office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Skills will be valued

Laboratory knowledge related to extracellular vesicle isolation, cell cultures, and immunocytochemistry.
Bioinformatics skills for processing large datasets, as well as advanced statistical analysis.
Previous stays in research groups.
Experience in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.

Functions

Isolation of extracellular vesicles from biofluids of people with neurodegenerative diseases for the identification of new diagnostic biomarkers.
Advanced statistical analysis to determine relationships between biomarkers and clinical and biological variables in large cohorts.
Identification of new candidate biomarker molecules through multi-omic data analysis.
Study of molecular functions in cell cultures.

Offered

Permanent contract linked to the project "Magnetic Resonance and tau from extracellular vesicles as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in 4R-tauopathies".
Annual working hours: 1,627.50 hours (37.5 hours/week).
Salary according to collective agreement.
Research group: Neurobiology of Dementias.
