Call for a R2B PostDoc Senior the Cancer Epigenetics Group. Deadline: March 18th, 2026, 3:00 pm

About the Unit / Group

The Cancer Epigenetics Group focuses its research on establishing epigenomic and epitranscriptomic maps for normal and transformed cells, studying the interactions between epigenetic modifications and non-coding RNAs, and developing new epigenetic drugs for cancer treatment. The research plan for the coming years will expand and innovate the group’s previous key contributions in the fields of epigenetics and epitranscriptomics, both at the basic and translational levels, addressing the identity of organs, tissues and cells and how these features become deregulated in disease, with a main focus on cancer.

Main research lines:

Study the “language” of chemical modifications in DNA and histones (Epigenetics) and RNA (Epitranscriptomics).
Resolve multi-omic heterogeneity using a single-cell epigenetic approach.
Elucidate the interaction between RNA modifications and carcinogenesis.
Identify therapeutic vulnerabilities in cancer for epigenetic and epitranscriptomic drugs.

Essential requirements

Minimum doctoral qualification required (more than 5 years ago)
Postdoctoral experience with the capacity to participate and/or direct one or more research projects
High knowledge of English and computer science
Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia or, failing that, the selected candidate must demonstrate, or undertake to acquire, within a period not exceeding one year, a correct knowledge of the two official languages in Catalonia. Skills will be valued
Practical experience in cellular and molecular biology.
Knowledge of epigenetics, RNA modifications and gene expression regulation.

Functions

Perform experiments in the field of cellular and molecular biology.
Participate in the design, execution and analysis of research projects related to the aforementioned research areas.
Prepare scientific reports and present results in team meetings and scientific conferences.

Offered

Permanent contract linked to the research line Elucidating the interaction between RNA modifications and carcinogenesis.
Initially linked to the Project PID2024-159192OB-I00 funded by MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033/FEDER, EU.
Annual workload of 1,627.50 hours (37.5 hours/week).
Salary according to the applicable collective agreement.
Research Group: Cancer Epigenetics.
