Call for a R2B Senior Postdoctoral Researcher the Urban Health Inequalities Research Group. Deadline: April 7, 2026, 3:00 pm

About the Unit / Group

The Urban Health Inequalities Research Group is a consolidated public health research group with expertise in social and environmental determinants of health. Based on social and environmental epidemiology, we study urban health and its unequal distribution and evaluate policies aimed at reducing inequalities.

Our work is structured around three pillars: (1) Urban Health and Social Determinants; (2) Emerging Structural and Environmental Determinants; and (3) Population and Community Interventions.

Beyond generating epidemiological evidence, we assess policy impacts and develop tools for monitoring and decision-making in collaboration with institutional and community stakeholders.

Call within the framework of the project JA PRISM (EU4H-2024-JA-IBA-06).

Essential requirements

PhD (minimum 5 years postdoctoral experience)
Proven research experience
High level of English and IT skills
Knowledge of Catalan and Spanish or commitment to acquire it within one year Skills will be valued
Project management experience
Coordination and networking skills

Methodological rigor
Soft skills: organization, autonomy, communication, social awareness

Functions

Project coordination support
Perform central coordination tasks of the project
Coordinate with the leaders of the Technical Work Packages
Monitor and ensure compliance with milestones and deliverables across all WPs
Organize and schedule the transfer and implementation activities of both practices
Ensure methodological requirements are met in local pilots
Liaison with partners and key stakeholders
Maintain regular contact with European partners involved in BIZI and Circle of Friends
Facilitate communication between local and European teams
Prepare and lead follow-up meetings
Monitoring and implementation control
Track the progress of activities (training, adaptation, implementation, data collection)
Identify early risks (delays, lack of resources, institutional barriers) and propose corrective actions
Monitor compliance with deliverables linked to technical WPs
Documentation and reporting
Prepare periodic activity reports
Keep documentation updated (protocols, meeting minutes, versions, training materials)
Methodological support and alignment
Ensure local implementation respects the original principles of BIZI and Circle of Friends
Support cultural and contextual adaptation of practices
Additional responsibilities (Circle of Friends – from December 2026)
Train as a CoF group facilitator (training provided by VTKL, in English)
Plan the group (space, schedule, 12-session structure)
Conduct pre-group individual interviews
Recruit participants and manage onboarding
Co-facilitate the 12 sessions
Manage group dynamics and emotional processes
Maintain learning journals
Participate in mentoring and training workshops
Identify vulnerability situations and refer to professional services when needed

Offered

Permanent contract linked to the project “Prevention-oriented, rights-based approach to support mental health in vulnerable population groups (JA PRISM)”
Annual working time: 1,627.50 hours (37.5 hours/week)
Salary according to the applicable collective agreement
