Internal promotion call for a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher in the Inflammatory Diseases group. Deadline: 5 June 2026, 3:00 p.m.

About the Group

The Inflammatory Diseases group is a multidisciplinary team. Our research objectives are:

To study the etiopathogenic mechanisms of immune-mediated diseases in order to develop tools that allow advancing toward more personalized medicine.
To find biomarkers of response to immunotherapy treatments in cancer and chronic inflammatory diseases in order to select the most appropriate drugs and identify the patient population that may benefit from them.
To analyze the involvement of the immune system in the pathogenesis of autoimmune processes, immunodeficiencies, and immunosenescence.

Essential requirements

Minimum required qualification: PhD (more than 5 years) in Immunology, Biomedicine or related fields, with a focus on translational immunology.
Experience in multiparametric flow cytometry and analysis of immune populations in human clinical samples.
Affiliation with the Institut de Recerca de l'Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
Oral and written knowledge of both official languages of Catalonia, or alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate or commit to achieving within a year a proper understanding of both official languages of Catalonia.
Advanced level of English.
Advanced knowledge of office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Current affiliation with the Institute.

Skills will be valued

Specific experience in the processing of complex biological fluids (especially bronchoalveolar lavages, sputum, urine), as well as their management in longitudinal studies.
Ability to design and optimize flow cytometry panels, with proficiency in analysis software such as FlowJo, MACSQuant, or equivalents.
Knowledge of functional techniques in immunology, including stimulation of T and B lymphocytes and monocytes, as well as different cell lines.
Experience in cell separation methods, functional assays with recombinant proteins, and proliferation and cytotoxicity assays. Also, experience in cytokine analysis through multiplex platforms and ELISA.
Ability to perform statistical analysis and integration of immunological and clinical data using tools such as R, SPSS, or similar statistical software.
Experience in identifying biomarkers with clinical applicability (diagnostic/prognostic), aligned with translational projects.
Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team and active participation in scientific writing and dissemination of results.

Functions

Participate in the development of the group's translational immunology projects, focused on studying the immune response in patient samples.
Process and analyze complex biological samples, ensuring data quality and traceability in longitudinal studies.
Design, optimize, and execute multiparametric flow cytometry experiments and cellular functional assays.
Analyze and interpret experimental data using specialized tools, integrating immunological results with clinical data.
Contribute to the identification of biomarkers with potential clinical application in diagnosis and prognosis.
Collaborate in experimental design and in the implementation of new methodologies.
Participate in the writing of scientific articles, reports, and competitive projects, as well as in the presentation of results at conferences.
Actively integrate into a multidisciplinary clinical-translational environment, collaborating with clinical teams and other researchers.

Offered

Permanent contract.
Annual working hours: 1,627.50 hours (37.5 hours/week).
Salary according to collective agreement.
Research group: Inflammatory Diseases.
