Essential requirements
- University degree granting access to doctoral studies (Bachelor’s + Master’s) in Bioinformatics, Biomedicine, Genetics, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
- Alternatively, degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields, provided that knowledge in bioinformatics can be demonstrated.
- Previous research experience (Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis, internships, publications).
- Competitive academic record.
- Interest in biomedical research, especially genomics and analysis of genetic omics data.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Fulfillment of the eligibility requirements for the PFIS contract according to the current call of the Carlos III Health Institute. Additional valued skills:
- Previous experience in bioinformatic and/or statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in languages and tools such as R, Python, Bash, bioinformatic pipelines, and Linux environments.
- Good level of scientific English (reading and writing). It offers: Appointment at the center will be conditional upon the awarding of the PFIS contract.
- Application for a PFIS predoctoral contract with a maximum duration of 4 years, in accordance with the conditions established in the official call.
- Doctoral training in an international group with extensive experience in genetics, pharmacogenomics, and stroke, within a leading biomedical research institute.
