Clinical Research Group – Medical Oncology Service

For over 10 years, the Clinical Research Group of the Medical Oncology Department has been dedicated to generating knowledge in clinical research, focusing on novel cancer treatment strategies. The group runs over 90 clinical trials across all tumor pathologies, promoted by both academic research groups (national and international cooperative groups) and pharmaceutical companies. They are currently developing phase I, II, and III studies, which have resulted in multiple publications across various oncology fields.

Main research areas:

CLINICAL:
Development of new therapeutic strategies
Studies to improve tumor staging
Studies for detecting residual disease
TRANSLATIONAL:
Personalized cancer therapy
Research on predictive and prognostic molecular biomarkers

Essential requirements

Minimum qualification required: Higher Education (Bachelor's Degree, University Degree) in Health Sciences.
Specific training in Clinical Trials (Master's degree in Clinical Trial Monitoring) or 2 years of accredited professional experience in a similar position.
Training in Good Clinical Practice and Quality standards.
Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia or, failing that, the successful candidate will have to demonstrate, or promise to obtain, within a period not exceeding one year, a correct knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia.
Advanced level of English.
Advanced knowledge of office tools (excel, word, power point, etc). Skills will be valued
Degree in Pharmacy.
Master’s in Clinical Trials and Genetics and Genomics.
Additional training in GMP and Animal Experimentation.
Experience in Clinical Trial Coordination and Data Management in a hospital setting.
Previous experience in similar positions.
Training in Clinical Trial Coordination and/or Monitoring.
Training and/or specific experience in Medical Oncology.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice.
Proficiency in Office software, databases, and email systems.

Functions

Coordination of clinical trials.
Registration and inclusion procedures for patients in clinical studies.
Management and follow-up of scheduling tests and visits for patients enrolled in clinical studies.
Data handling and completion of CRFs and/or eCRFs.
Communication and follow-up of adverse events (AEs, SAEs, AESIs).
Assistance and support to monitors during pre-initiation, initiation, monitoring, and close-out visits.
Preparation of documentation required for start-up processes, initiation/close-out visits, monitoring visits, and audits.
Management and maintenance of the Investigator Site File documentation.
Management and maintenance of databases.
Support to investigators and monitors.
Dispensing of medication through web-based systems.
Support to translational research in the collection, processing, and management of biological samples.
Attendance at Study Coordinator and Investigator meetings for each study.

Offered

Permanent contract linked to the research line: “Clinical Trial Coordinator in Medical Oncology. Main area of studies in colorectal cancer”.
Annual working time of 1,627.50 hours (37.5 hours/week).
Salary according to the applicable collective agreement.
Research Group: Clinical Research Group in Oncology.
