About the Unit / Group

The Scientific Directorate of IR Sant Pau seeks to recruit a Manager of Internationalisation and Global Development with responsibilities in international strategy and strategic partnerships. This position is essential to implement the new Strategic Plan and advance the Institute’s vision of becoming a globally recognised reference centre. The role will be key in driving internationalisation and consolidating collaborations with leading scientific and institutional stakeholders.

The main mission of this role is to strengthen the international positioning of the Sant Pau Research Institute through the development of a global strategy for promotion and collaboration; the identification of new partners, networks, and international opportunities; and the establishment of strategic alliances that reinforce the Institute’s priority research lines. The professional will directly contribute to achieving the objectives of the Strategic Plan and consolidating Sant Pau as a European leader in biomedical research.

Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to be part of a leading and growing research environment, actively participate in the Institute’s strategic transformation and internationalisation, and engage with high-level European scientific and institutional networks, contributing significantly to the Institute’s global development and visibility

Essential requirements

  • Minimum qualification: University degree in Biosciences, Health Sciences, International Relations, Innovation Management, or similar.
  • Proven experience of at least 4 years coordinating areas and/or teams in innovation, research management, project management, or international relations.
  • Oral and written knowledge of the two official languages of Catalonia. Level C of Catalan or, alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate or commit to acquiring adequate knowledge of both official languages within a maximum period of one year.
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Advanced knowledge of office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel. Skills will be valued
  • Postgraduate or Master’s studies in research management, science policy, innovation management, technology transfer, or international management.
  • Knowledge of the European scientific system and funding programmes, networks, and international initiatives.
  • Experience in developing partnerships and collaborations with leading international research centres, universities, and scientific institutions.
  • Communication skills and ability to build institutional relationships and work in teams.
  • Strategic vision, analytical thinking, and proactivity.

Functions

  • Define and implement a new international promotion strategy to strengthen the Institute’s visibility and positioning.
  • Prepare and update technical, scientific, and institutional documentation for international outreach.
  • Represent the Institute at international forums, meetings, and events.
  • Assess and update the map of existing international collaborations (by areas and cross-cutting programmes).
  • Identify and engage new strategic partners, especially at the European level, to establish collaboration bridges.
  • Increase the Institute’s presence and activity in international networks.
  • Develop and maintain stable institutional relationships with research centres, universities, and European networks.
  • Support the monitoring and implementation of actions within the Institutional Strategic Plan.
  • Develop and update a portfolio of strategic initiatives and projects aligned with the Institute’s distinctive research areas.
  • Support accreditation processes, evaluations, and institutional audits.
  • Identify opportunities and programmes for attracting international talent (MSCA, ERA Talents, European and international programmes).
  • Promote initiatives aimed at mobility and attraction of international talent.
  • Drive actions to enhance the Institute’s competitiveness and visibility as a global scientific talent destination.
  • Participate in and support strategic projects led by the Scientific Directorate.

Offered

  • Permanent contract.
  • Annual working time: 1,627.5 hours (37.5 hours/week).
  • Salary according to agreement.
