About the Unit / Group
The Communication and External Relations Area was created in 2021 to increase the reputation and visibility of the Institute, as well as to strengthen and build new relationships with key stakeholders.
The Communication Unit communicates and disseminates the innovative and leading research activities of the Sant Pau Research Institute at both national and international levels. Through various activities and projects, the unit engages with the public and stakeholders to promote engagement and raise awareness about biomedical and health research.
The Unit is responsible for corporate image, media relations, public engagement, science education, internal communication, and fundraising. It is accredited as a Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC+i) by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT). It is part of the scientific culture and innovation unit network, which includes major agents for the dissemination of science and innovation in Spain.
The selected person will contribute to the conceptualization, coordination, and comprehensive execution of communication projects and actions such as fundraising, outreach, and informative campaigns aimed at different target audiences connected to the Research Institute (citizens, hospital users, students, professionals, health sector stakeholders, companies, etc.)
Essential requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences (preferably in Advertising and Public Relations or Marketing).
- Oral and written proficiency in both official languages of Catalonia. Level C in Catalan, or alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate or commit to acquiring adequate knowledge of both official Catalan languages within a year.
- Intermediate level of English.
- Over 4 years of prior experience in managing citizen-oriented, multichannel campaigns and content.
- Proven experience in the Health and Research sector.
- Advanced knowledge of office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Skills will be valued
- Experience in communication and marketing departments and advertising agencies.
- Experience in relationship marketing, client management, negotiation, as well as back-office management of CRMs and other digital marketing and communication tools.
- Creative capacity, lateral thinking, innovation.
- Initiative and results-oriented mindset.
- Versatile profile with strong organizational, planning, and evaluation skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (copywriting).
- Negotiation and influence skills.
- Dynamic, autonomous, organized, and creative person with an interest in research and innovation in the health sector.
Functions
- Define and implement marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Conceptualize disruptive actions to reach target audiences and support the production of necessary digital, audiovisual, and physical materials.
- Manage projects with a comprehensive vision.
- Manage contracting and invoicing with external providers.
- Define KPIs and prepare performance reports.
- Support content writing, management of owned channels, and development of quality materials. Offered
