About the Unit / Research Group

The Memory Unit of Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona is a multidisciplinary team within the Neurology Department. We are specialized in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Our unit combines clinical care with cutting-edge research to improve early detection, monitor disease progression, and develop new therapeutic strategies.

With internationally recognized research programs, advanced biomarker platforms, and strong collaborative networks, we are committed to advancing precision medicine and providing the highest quality care to patients and their families.

Essential Requirements

Minimum qualification required: Higher Vocational Education and Training Diploma (Advanced Vocational Training / FP II) or equivalent.
At least 4 years of proven professional experience.
Oral and written proficiency in the two official languages of Catalonia or, alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate, or commit to acquiring within a maximum period of one year, an adequate command of both official languages.
Intermediate level of office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

The Following will be valued

Knowledge of databases containing clinical and genetic information.
Previous experience in the management of biological samples.
Previous experience coordinating multicentre projects.
Previous experience in studies conducted in the field of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease.
Experience in biofluid processing.

Duties

Manage biological samples from individuals with Alzheimer's disease.
Integrate clinical and biomarker information with genomic and DNA methylation data.
Study the contribution of different key proteins involved in Alzheimer's disease to DNA methylation.
Investigate how different clinical variables and participant groups influence DNA methylation patterns.

We Offer

Permanent employment contract linked to the project: “Are epigenomic changes in the Alzheimer's disease continuum modifiable? A discovery, validation and interventional study”. This project has been funded by the Pasqual Maragall Foundation under the Pasqual Maragall Researchers Programme (PMRP) (Grant Agreement 2022-1227).
Annual workload of 1,627.5 hours (37.5 hours per week).
Salary according to the applicable collective agreement.
Integration into the Neurobiology of Dementias Research Group.
