About the Unit / Research Group

The Memory Unit of Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona is a multidisciplinary team within the Neurology Department. We are specialized in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Our unit combines clinical care with cutting-edge research to improve early detection, monitor disease progression, and develop new therapeutic strategies.

Essential Requirements

Minimum qualification required: Higher Education degree (University Diploma or Bachelor's Degree) or equivalent.
Oral and written proficiency in the two official languages of Catalonia or, alternatively, the selected candidate must demonstrate, or commit to acquiring within a maximum period of one year, an adequate command of both official languages.
Intermediate level of office software tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Intermediate level of English.

The Following will be valued

Laboratory knowledge related to extracellular vesicle isolation, cell culture techniques, and immunocytochemistry.
Bioinformatics knowledge for large-scale data processing and advanced statistical analyses.
Previous research stay or placement within a research group.
Experience in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.

Duties

Isolation of extracellular vesicles from biofluids obtained from individuals with neurodegenerative diseases for the identification of novel diagnostic biomarkers.
Performing advanced statistical analyses to determine associations between biomarkers and clinical and biological variables in large cohorts.
Identification of novel biomarker candidate molecules through multi-omics data analysis.
Investigation of molecular functions using cell culture models.

We offer

Permanent employment contract linked to the project: "Magnetic Resonance Imaging and extracellular vesicle tau as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers in 4R tauopathies".
Annual workload of 1,627.5 hours (37.5 hours per week).
Salary according to the applicable collective agreement.
Integration into the Neurobiology of Dementias Research Group.
