Cross-cutting Program Information
Biomedical research has shown the importance of sex, gender and intersectionality in health, well-being and disease progression, to the point that it is currently difficult to justify healthcare activity and research without a gender perspective. In this program, we promote the incorporation of sex/gender perspective in research content to fill existing knowledge gaps, increase the reproducibility of studies by making them bias-free, contribute to minimizing delays in diagnosis and unexpected adverse effects, and increase equity and social justice. Furthermore, we promote research on women's health and diseases that affect women, to help ensure that our research has an impact on personalized medicine.
