Service dedicated to supporting the design, execution, analysis, and writing of scientific projects that require the use of biomedical signals and images such as electroencephalography and neuroimaging, or the use of neuropsychological assessment tests and other measures for evaluating cognitive functioning.
Services
The research objectives of different medical specialties and external entities not directly related to neurology, neuropsychology, or neuroscience may require the use of advanced techniques for analyzing biomedical signals and images (EEG, MRI, PET), molecular neurodegeneration biomarkers, and statistical analysis.
Additionally, the lack of knowledge on specific aspects of neuroscience research methodology may mean that interested groups require expert scientific advice regarding the experimental design of studies and the administration of appropriate tests to answer the research questions.
LAB-DEN addresses all these needs, which can be schematically divided into:
- Support in the experimental design of studies focused on evaluating the impact of specific diseases on nervous system functioning and/or integrity and related processes (e.g., cognitive processes).
- Analysis of biomedical signals and images acquired in research contexts (EEG signals and evoked potentials, structural and functional MRI, molecular neuroimaging).
- Multimodal analysis of molecular neurodegeneration biomarkers obtained from peripheral blood (neurofilament, TAU, pTAU) and neuroimaging.
- Support in the acquisition of biomedical signals and images.
- Administration and scoring of cognitive assessment tests and batteries.
- Design of specific experimental paradigms.
- Statistical analysis and interpretation of results.
- Advising on manuscript writing and project preparation for research funding applications.
- Complete writing of manuscripts and research projects.
