How are adverse drug reactions monitored?

On Wednesday, November 4, at 6 pm, Mayro Cortés, a resident physician in the Clinical Pharmacology Department at Sant Pau Hospital, will give a talk at the Guinardó Civic Center titled “How are adverse drug reactions monitored?”

All medications can have contraindications and carry a certain risk of causing adverse effects. Do you know what an adverse reaction is and how we monitor them, both in hospitals and outside of them?

In this talk, we’ll explore what pharmacovigilance entails, why it’s important, and how we can participate as citizens to identify, as early as possible, serious or previously unknown adverse reactions to medications already on the market.
