Our research unit was established in March 2002. We conduct clinical trials sponsored by pharmaceutical companies, as well as investigator-initiated experimental and observational studies funded through public and private competitive calls. In addition, we support other research projects promoted by our healthcare professionals. All studies focus on common pathologies encountered in primary health care. The research unit is composed of two family physicians, two research nurses, one statistician, and two administrative staff members. We also collaborate with several academic and clinical institutions. We work closely with the teaching unit (UD ACEBA), providing support to medical and nursing residents in developing their research projects; with the Preventive Medicine Unit of Hospital de Santa Pau, supporting preventive medicine residents; and with the International University of Catalonia, assisting students with research activities when needed.
