Desarrollo de nuevos modelos animales de la enfermedad diseminada en los tumores sólidos y neoplasias hematológicas para el estudio mecanicista de la metástasis y el desarrollo preclínico de fármacos.
Identificación de biomarcadores pronósticos en el carcinoma de cabeza y cuello de células escamosas y su validación funcional in vivo.
Desarrollo de nanoconjugados para la administración dirigida de fármacos antitumorales o toxinas de las células madre metastásicas.

Retos

Obtener fondos para garantizar el empleo estable de investigadores de alto nivel, atraer postdoctorados y reforzar la colaboración con los clínicos actuales.
Desarrollar marcadores moleculares para la toma de decisiones terapéuticas en el cáncer de cabeza y cuello.

Estos equipos y servicios constituyen la unidad 18 de NANBIOSIS, la infraestructura integrada de producción y caracterización de nanomateriales, biomateriales y sistemas en biomedicina, del CIBER-BBN y el Centro de Cirugía de Mínima invasión Jesús Usón, que ha sido reconocida por el MINECO como Infraestructura Científico-Tecnológica Singular (ICTS).
