The Research Group in Genomics of Complex Diseases of the Sant Pau Research Institute – IIB Sant Pau, led by Dr. José Manuel Soria, and the Bioinformatics and Biomedical Signals Laboratory (B2SLab, UPC), led by Dr. Alexandre Perera, have created the Health-xCode project to transfer the research results to the market. This project has won the First Creatic Prize 2019 from the TecnoCampus-UPF Foundation and the City Council of Mataró.
The objective of the Health-xCode project is combining artificial intelligence (AI) and genomic technologies to analyze the changes in genetic expression (RNA) due to different conditions of nutrition and sports activity, to assess potential health risks and propose personalized guidelines to improve that sports performance and nutrition.
