The spin-off, Exheus, has received the Award for Innovative Startup led by women at the MIT Enterprise Forum Spain, an event promoted by IESE Business School – University of Navarra and Massachusetts Institute of Technology that serves as a meeting point between startups, corporations, institutions and investors. This is a good recognition of the scientific-business work being carried out and the commitment to gender equality of the entire Exheus team and the institutions involved, including the Sant Pau Research Institute-IIB Sant Pau.
Exheus is a spin-off company born thanks to the research carried out by the Sant Pau Research Institute – IIB Sant Pau, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC) and the company Summit SL, which has introduced into the market an innovative technology that analyses gene expression and its alterations, through artificial intelligence, to optimise people’s performance, health and nutrition.
The new Exheus spin-off develops a technology that is capable of sequencing RNA, from a small sample of blood, and associating the expression of genes in more than 320 metabolic pathways that act as biomarkers of the parameters of the individual’s body, analysing all those variations that are outside of normality in order to improve and prevent health problems.
